Jaymes is actively involved in the community, supporting organizations such as Rotary International (Downtown Honolulu Club), Children's Miracle Network, Kidney Foundation of Hawaii, and coaching youth baseball and basketball.

 

Originally from Seattle and raised in a humble immigrant household, Jaymes graduated from Western Washington University with degrees in journalism and English. He completed internships at KCPQ-TV, the Tri-City Herald, The News Tribune, and the San Diego Union-Tribune. He lived in Newport Beach, CA, before moving to Honolulu in 1997.

 

Jaymes is married to Becky Ogata, and together they have three children.
